Lee Ann Swenson is an industry veteran proven in 25 years of experience in both large multinational and small biotech companies, with solid market and business expertise in the areas of oncology and hematology. Lee Ann has worked in the US, Canadian, and global biopharma arenas.
Through her extensive career, Lee Ann has gained experience across a variety of both early and advanced stage malignancies, with products in preclinical, clinical, launch, active promotional, and late lifecycle stages. Her practical oncology experience spans positions from Sales Representative, Product Manager, International Product Manager, and Oncology Business Unit Manager, through Vice President of Marketing. Lee Ann currently leads Kineticx, Inc., creating relevant content for both CME and medical communications projects. In addition, Lee Ann is available to consult directly with companies with either an existing or developing commercial presence in oncology and/or hematology.
Prior to founding Kineticx, Lee Ann held the position of Vice President of Marketing at Hemosol Inc., a biotech company with commercial opportunities in oncology, hematology, and transfusion medicine. At Hemosol, her responsibilities included strategic business planning, corporate and medical audience communications, investor relations, and business development. Lee Ann was central to the core commercialization strategy for the company’s lead product and in building and leading a team to implement the planned transition to a commercially active entity, including planning and establishing initial field teams. In addition, she was an Officer of the Company, regularly interacting with the Board of Directors and major shareholders. She was integral in the planning and implementation of the NASDAQ initial public offering in the US, and was active in business development efforts towards commercial partnerships.
Before joining Hemosol, Lee Ann was a principal in GENEXC Biomedical Marketing Inc., a firm providing strategic planning, marketing communications, business development, and portfolio planning to companies such as Immunex, Pfizer, Amgen, Warner Lambert, Pharmacia, and Novartis.
Earlier in her career, Lee Ann held progressive positions of increasing marketing and business management responsibilities in both domestic and international operations at the Lederle Division of American Cyanamid and the Liposome Company Inc.

Lee Ann holds an Honours Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and a Diploma of Agriculture from the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario, Canada and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the York University Schulich School of Business in Toronto, Ontario. She is a member of the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA) , the International Society for Medical Publications Professionals (ISMPP) , International Publications Planning Association (TIPPA) , regularly participating in conferences and continuing educational programs. Lee Ann is a Certified Medical Publications Professional (CMPP) by the ISMPP.
